Garment Production Lead Time Planning
Lead time begins after approvals and materials—not from the first email.
What brands need to know
A realistic calendar separates feasibility, quotation, order confirmation, material production, sampling, revisions, bulk cutting, decoration, sewing, finishing, inspection and freight. TGM's approval sample normally takes 10–15 days after order confirmation and required materials. Bulk production generally takes 25–45 days after sample approval. Custom knitted or dyed fabric can add approximately three to four weeks. Public holidays, special trims, repeated revisions and late approvals affect the schedule.
Production checklist
- Define the start condition
- Add material production time
- Reserve time for one revision
- Separate production and transit
How this affects your quotation
A reliable quotation depends on the final design, construction, fabric, GSM, colours, size range, quantity per style and colour, branding, packing, delivery country and target date. Commercial feasibility and material availability are reviewed before a price is confirmed.
