Activewear and Stretch Fabric Development
Stretch percentage alone does not define recovery, opacity or performance.
What brands need to know
Activewear material selection should consider fibre, knit structure, weight, four-way or two-way stretch, recovery, opacity under extension, moisture behaviour, abrasion, pilling and colourfastness. Elastane percentage is only one input. Seams, thread and elastic must move with the fabric without breaking or tunnelling. Sublimation, transfer, screen print and reflective applications each require material compatibility testing.
Production checklist
- Measure stretch and recovery
- Check opacity while worn
- Select stretch-compatible seams
- Test decoration on bulk-quality fabric
How this affects your quotation
A reliable quotation depends on the final design, construction, fabric, GSM, colours, size range, quantity per style and colour, branding, packing, delivery country and target date. Commercial feasibility and material availability are reviewed before a price is confirmed.
