Production and sourcing considerations
Common weights range from light 240 GSM programs to heavier custom qualities.
For a production quotation, specify the desired fibre composition, finished GSM, usable width, colour or Pantone reference, stretch requirement, surface finish, washing method and quantity per style and colour. A lab dip, strike-off or material sample may be required before bulk approval.
Questions to ask before approving this fabric
- Does the finished weight match the garment structure and season?
- What shrinkage is expected in length and width after the agreed wash test?
- Does the colourfastness meet the end-use and care requirements?
- Will printing, embroidery, washing or bonding change the surface?
- Is the available lot sufficient for production tolerance and replacements?
- Which certificate or fibre claim documentation is available for this order?
